Save the Date: May 22nd Rally in Trenton

On Thursday May 22nd, hundreds of nursing home workers, family members, residents and supporters from across the state will be coming together to rally for nursing homes funding in New Jersey. We need to make sure our voices are heard as State leaders make decisions about our resident's lives. Together, we can make a difference!

For more information about the rally and transportation to Trenton, call the NJ Alliance for Quality in Nursing Home Care at (732) 287-2883, ext 248.

Issues That Most Affect the Quality of Care at Nursing Homes

We're working on two important issues affecting nursing home residents in our state.

Lack of Continuity of Care New Jersey's nursing homes have an alarming caregiver turnover rate of nearly 50 percent. Poverty wages and difficult working conditions forces many caregivers to leave for better jobs. This results in residents not getting the continuity of care they need.

Short Staffing High turnover rates and underfunded nursing homes are two major problems that cause short staffing. 90 percent of nursing homes in the state are not staffed at the optimal staffing levels, leaving the frail and elderly with out the care they need.
