New Jersey’s State Leaders Need to Make the Sick and Elderly a Priority

Patricia Mathews

SEIU 1199 New Jersey member, Patricia Mathews, a Certified Nursing Assistant, speaks out at a statewide rally at the Capitol to stop the proposed nursing home budget cuts - June 2005. We succeeded.

On February 27th, Governor Corzine released his State budget proposal with significant cuts to nursing homes. These cuts would hurt the sickest and oldest residents in New Jersey.

Save the Date: May 22nd Rally in Trenton

On Thursday May 22nd, hundreds of nursing home workers, family members, residents and supporters from across the state will be coming together to rally for nursing homes funding in New Jersey. We need to make sure our voices are heard as State leaders make decisions about our resident's lives. Together, we can make a difference!

For more information about the rally and transportation to Trenton, call the NJ Alliance for Quality in Nursing Home Care at (732) 287-2883, ext 248.
